Flint, Michigan -- The community foundation of great Flint awarded a $7,500 grant to Kettering university to documentation students at the school’s Pre-College Computer Science camp.


The grant money will be use to stolon price for Genesee County students to attend the camp establish on financial indigence, accord to a news dismissal from the university.


“The generosity of this grant will remove financial barrier for students that have a heat for computer science to participate in our summer broadcast,” allege Cherie Taylor, Kettering’s Pre-College plan run. “The students can return their raw skills and moral back to the classroom and extra-curricular activity such as robotics to aid their team improve the code on their robots.”


The camp, keep in July each year, promote hands-on eruditeness and aid high school students a navigate the internet use cyber security and Python code broadcast, per the dismissal.


Kettering offer more than 25 different precollege eruditeness program, include the Academically interest mind program, first Robotics competition and leadership camp.


“Offering Flint and Genesee County youth the opportunity to learn computer science skills through this camp at Kettering University gives students skills that can be applied to future careers in the STEM field, which is rapidly growing and offers lucrative employment opportunities,” Alexandria Dawson, Community Foundation of Greater Flint program officer, said.

The community foundation’s Bruce B. Mackey store for education supply the grant.
